L’autre c’est moi

Scenography

The exhibition testified to the thousand-year-old and exemplary cohabitation between Muslims and Jews in Morocco, which has enabled each community to enrich itself with the knowledge and traditions of the other.

Paul Dahan (founder of the CCJM) has constantly presented his collection with the aim of spreading his commitment to intercultural and inter-religious exchange, calling for tolerance, for encounters with the other, for dialogue between peoples.

The exhibition "L'autre c'est Moi" was presented at the Jewish Museum of Belgium and aimed to raise awareness, particularly among young people about the often thin, but strongly claimed, boundary between identities.

Through ancient objects, numerous photographs, but also animations, the exhibition "L'autre c'est moi" went through the major stages of life, birth, integration into the community, marriage and death.

It highlighted the fundamental similarities and symbolic differences that have allowed two communities to develop together over the centuries, and to create a common destiny in the face of nature and life conditions.
